Lower Myra Falls, Strathcona Provincial Park, BC

Lower Myra Falls, Strathcona Provincial Park, BC

Regular price $80.00 $0.00
This stunning waterfall is found at the south end of Buttle Lake in Strathcona Park. While walking down a steep 1.5 km (.9 mile) trail you will hear the water first and then have several options to view the different levels of the waterfall. The falls are 61m (200ft) high with a series of 7 different drops of basalt and limestone with icy cold turquoise pools which then plunge into Buttle Lake.
The falls and Myra Creek were named for Myra Ellison, daughter of Price Ellison who lead an expedition to explore the new park reserve in 1910 which would then become Strathcona Provincial Park.
